Jerome "J" Myles Sr.

Jerome E. Myles, Sr. is the Gospel Music Director for WPRL 91.7 FM "The Gold" Radio Station. He is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, He is a 1979 graduate of North Natchez High School in Natchez, Mississippi. Jerome attended Natchez College where he graduated in 1982 with Associate of Arts in Music and Communications.

Jerome has been fortunate to receive several awards. Most Influential Person in Natchez, Mississippi 1998; State Wide Gospel Announcer of The Year at the 27th Annual Gospel Music Awards in Jackson, Mississippi 2005;Resolution Award from the Mayor and Board of Alderman in the City of Natchez 2005; Best Underwriting Commercial 2005.

Jerome is the son of Ruth Norbitt, Carrie B. Myles and the late Rev. James P. Myles of Natchez, Mississippi. He is married to the former Elizabeth Benjamin of Pattison, Mississippi and the father of four children Jerome, Jr., Derrick, Devyn, Kobe and Tyler.

The Alcorn State University Extension Program (ASUEP) has once again expanded its “Extension this Week” radio talk show program, this time to air on the University’s WPRL 91.7 FM “The Gold” station. The show, which will air weekly, is being hosted by Manola Erby, 4-H youth specialist, in conjunction with Jerome Myles, campus radio personality.

The show’s purpose, according to Manola Erby, host of the weekly broadcast on 91.7 FM, is to bring educational and entertaining information to the University’s campus and the surrounding communities.
