Toni Walker Terrett

Toni Walker Terrett is an assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communications at Alcorn State University. Her focus areas include print journalism, media law and ethics and graphic design. Professor Terrett is also a partner with the Vicksburg-based law firm of Walker, Terrett & Nailor, P.A. and holds a real estate broker's license.

Professor Terrett began her professional media career as News Director and Senior Producer of WPRL-FM, the Alcorn State University radio station. She also has worked as a freelance writer for The Clarion Ledger, The Tougaloo College News alumni publication and other entities. Before entering private law practice, Professor Terrett worked as a law clerk with Warren County Chancellor Vicki Roach Barnes. Professor Terrett earned her bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College, a master of arts in journalism from the University of Memphis and her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law.

Professor Terrett is a cofounder of Our House Ministries, Inc., an outreach and networking ministry based in the Warren County area in 2006. She is the founding president of the Southwest Mississippi Chapter of the Tougaloo College National Alumni Association and she is active and national bar associations.
